Knowing when to repot
A plant outgrowing its pot will tell you. Size up at the right moment and it surges.
Roots circling the surface or escaping the drainage holes mean it is time.
Go up one pot size only; too big a pot holds too much wet soil.
Spring is the best season to repot, as the plant is ready to grow into it.
Fresh, open potting mix with good drainage beats tired compacted soil.
